“B.Y.O.B” Build Your Own Brunch!

Whether you are hosting the garden club, throwing a shower or just celebrating the beginning of Spring, Brunch is always a good idea.  And what could be more fun than a B.Y.O.B., also known as “Build Your Own Brunch,” station for guests to create their own plate of heaven? Fun for them, easy for you!

How about a delicious eggs Benedict station complete with all the fixings:   pulled pork, smoked salmon, steamed asparagus, and  different types of hollandaise sauce. Perhaps you could also add a nice green salad and sliced fruit as well.

The drink station  includes bloody marys and mimosas, obviously.

Be sure to provide a delicious non-alcoholic option as well. To keep things festive for spring, use blood oranges, pomegranates and fresh berries. Make a pitcher of freshly squeezed blood orange juice. Then, muddle together a few sprigs of fresh mint and thyme with the pomegrante and berries and add the concoction to the juice. Top it off with a little lime flavored sparkling water.

If you have a lawn, set up a croquette, bocce ball or even a badminton station. Bring out a handful of board games for guests to play at their leisure. Consider asking your guests to bring a live potted plant or flower for a garden swap with other guests.

And don’t forget about the “goody bag.” Guests love to leave a party with a meaningful memento. Fill miniature terra cotta pots with soil and an herb seedling; include a decorative card with plant care instructions or perhaps home grown veggies and a recipe card including a dish made with the veggies.  Most importantly, just make sure your guests leave with a happy memory of your  festive get-together.

Happy Entertaining! Love and lacquer,
